Missy currently serves as the Director of Program Ministry at The Parish of St. Matthew in Pacific Palisades, CA after having served as The Director of Christian Formation for Children and Youth for eight years. At St. Matthew's she has the joy of overseeing the integration of vital campus ministries including the 300+ person scouting program and summer day camp.
Missy has completed her Level 1 coaching training through an accredited coaching training program, is currently working towards ICF certification, and is a member of the International Coaching Federation. She is also studies Family Systems Theory as a tool to see congregations as integrated systems of interrelated parts.
She is a consultant on issues related to Christian formation and church workplace justice and accountability, serving three terms on the board of directors for Forma, where she is currently the Chair of the Leadership Council. As the convener of the Colloquium of Episcopal Professional and Vocational Associations (CEPVA), as a part of The Episcopal Church Advisory Group on Lifelong Christian formation and as co-convener for The Task Force on Older Adult Ministries, a task force of The General Convention of The Episcopal Church, Missy has served The Episcopal Church at the denominational level. She is also currently an elected member of the Diocese of Los Angeles Diocesan Council.
She has served the parishes of Trinity Episcopal Church in Iowa City, Iowa, St. Thomas Church, Dupont Circle, Washington, DC and on the staff of The Cathedral College of Washington National Cathedral. During her time working for the Episcopal Church her ministry has evolved and changed, but remains one formational at the core. Her approach to everything is through the lens of formation, whether it is ministry with young people or adults, ministry with lay or clergy, or advocacy work.
In her non-work time Missy, can frequently be found curled up with a book, usually consuming several at a time, biking, attempting knitting, enjoying Iowa Hawkeye sports, attending Angel City FC games, and taking her godchildren on adventures full of laughter.
